Privacy Policy

Summary

PrepBench has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or location. Your recipes, calculation history and prep logs stay on your device.

Share links

When you create a share link, the recipe content you chose to share (name, components, amounts, steps and notes) is uploaded to our server so that anyone with the link can view it. It is stored for 365 days and you can revoke it from the app at any time, which deletes it immediately.

To create links the app obtains a random anonymous token. It is not derived from your device and is used only to limit abuse. We do not store IP addresses; for rate limiting and abuse reports we keep a keyed one-way hash of the IP address for at most two days, or for as long as the reported link exists.

Usage data and crash reports

The app sends anonymous usage events and crash reports to improve the app. A usage event records what happened (for example, which calculator was used, that a recipe was saved, or whether a Pro purchase attempt succeeded, was cancelled or failed) together with a random installation ID, the device model, iOS version, language, time zone and app version. Events never include reagent names, recipe names, notes or payment details, are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising. They are sent to our own analytics server hosted on Cloudflare. Retention: usage events, and the daily counts derived from them, are deleted no later than 400 days after they are received.

Crash reports are processed by Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): stack trace, device model, iOS version, app version and a Crashlytics installation ID, kept for 90 days. A technical log stays on your device for 7 days and is uploaded only when we open a troubleshooting request for your installation, usually after you contact us; it never contains reagent names, recipe names or notes.

What we do not do

No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no sale of data.

Your choices

You can revoke a share link in the app on the device that created it. Deleting the app removes all local data. To have the usage events of your installation deleted before the retention period ends, or for any other request, contact us and quote the Installation ID shown in the app under Settings › About; we delete the matching events within 30 days.
